We are working in partnership with an Electrical and Instrumentation subcontractors recruiting for an Electrical Technician to work on a Power Station in Southeast England on an initial 6-month contract.
The Electrical Technician role comes with a competitive rate per hour.
Key skills

Perform preventative and corrective electrical maintenance activities.

Safely operate, isolate and maintain electrical systems up to 11kV.

Undertake switching operations in accordance with site electrical safety rules.

Carry out inspection, testing and fault finding on:

HV/LV switchgear.
-
MCCs and distribution boards.
-
Transformers.
-
Motors and drives.
-
UPS systems.
-
Lighting and small power installations.
-
Diagnose electrical faults and implement effective repairs.

Support plant shutdown and maintenance campaigns.

Complete electrical inspections and produce detailed reports.
-
Review and work from electrical schematics and single line diagrams.

Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with site procedures and legislation.

Operate within permit-to-work and isolation procedures.

Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks and risk assessments.

Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
