Astute’s renewables team is exclusively partnering with an engineering consultancy with a 30-year reputation of successful and diverse energy infrastructure projects, to recruit a Gasification Consultant based from their Stockport office with UK travel and occasional overseas travel.   • Prepare, review, and advise upon process plant documentation, such as heat & mass balances, PFD’s, P&ID’s, process calculations, data sheets, design documentation, data sheets and functional descriptions.
  • Timely production of high-quality scientific models, reports, and other technical documentation.
  • Supporting client enquiries and providing technical advice and expertise.
  • Flexible to travel when required, including very occasional overseas travel.
    Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:  
  • Qualified to master’s or PhD in Chemical Engineering (or equivalent field).
  • Ideally a Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership.
  • Experienced across a process manufacturing or engineering consultancy environment.
  • Experienced with design development, pre-FEED and FEED studies.
  • Prior experience with MATLAB, Simulink, HYSYS, Aspen Plus or similar.
  • Experience working across waste industry or applicable academic research or oil and gas.
    Personal skills The Senior Electrical Engineer role would suit someone who is:  
  • Able to successfully work as part of a larger team as well as autonomously.
  • A good working knowledge of Pyrolysis, Gasification of waste or Carbon capture and storage.
  •  Flexibility to travel in the UK and occasionally overseas.
