Responsibilities and duties of the Operations Production Engineer role Reporting to the Operations Manager you will:Support the delivery of site operational strategies, ensuring consistent performance across day and shift teams.
Lead and develop operational personnel, promoting safe, reliable and efficient plant operation.
Oversee the coordination of work control processes, chairing relevant meetings and ensuring operational impacts are clearly communicated.
Act as an operational subject matter expert on compliance, incident response, functional safety and site standards.
Monitor daily operating data, production losses and plant status, ensuring accurate reporting and timely action close-out.
Provide operational support during plant upsets or incidents and deputise for the Operations Manager when required.
Drive continuous improvement across plant performance, processes and procedures, keeping up to date with industry trends and regulatory requirements.
Build effective relationships across the site, contractors and external stakeholders, representing Operations professionally at all times.
Maintain Senior Authorised Person competencies, including LV and HV authorisation, and ensure adherence to Safe Working Procedures.
HNC in a relevant engineering discipline or working towards completion.
Process Principles Operations 1, 2 and 3 or equivalent operational qualifications.
Experience in a continuous process or production environment.
Familiarity with Safe Systems of Work, including permit to work, risk assessments and incident control.
A proactive leader who can guide and mentor operational teams.
Highly organised, able to balance safety, commercial and operational priorities.
Calm under pressure with strong decision-making abilities in abnormal or emergency situations.
An effective communicator, confident in influencing, presenting and coordinating across departments.
