Job Title: Automatic Dispensing System (ADS) Technician

Pay: $25–$28/hour (based on experience) + reimbursed mileage

We are seeking an Automatic Dispensing System (ADS) Technician for a full-time, direct hire position with one of our major clients located in Melville, NY, with 40% travel expected throughout the service area.

The ADS Technician will travel to long-term care (LTC) facilities throughout the areas of Long Island, Brooklyn, and Queens to restock, maintain, and troubleshoot automated medication dispensing systems. This is a field-based, hands-on role that combines technical troubleshooting with pharmacy operations support.

• Travel to LTC facilities to restock, audit, and troubleshoot medication carts and ADS machines
• Prepare and process DEA/BNE state applications to legally use ADS machines
• Maintain system functionality by coordinating with IT to ensure consistent connectivity and data flow
• Verify medication deliveries and ensure accuracy within the ADS machines
• Conduct quarterly audits to check inventory, expiration dates, and machine integrity
• Train nursing and facility staff with in-service materials and step-by-step user guides
• Work closely with pharmacy teams to address discrepancies, new medication entries, and control drug monitoring
• Provide on-site and phone support for technical troubleshooting
• Collaborate with the purchasing and compliance teams to optimize inventory and reduce medication waste
• Pack, check, and support batch orders when needed, especially during audits or staffing gaps

• Minimum 1 year as a Certified pharmacy technician; LTC or hospital pharmacy experience is strongly preferred
• PTCB or NHA Certification Required
• Familiarity with ADS systems such as Omnicell or Pyxis
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to travel up to 40% locally; must have reliable transportation (mileage reimbursed)
