Job Description:

The Vice President of Nursing holds a pivotal role, overseeing the assessment, planning, execution, and evaluation of needs across staff, patients, and the organization. This role includes developing clinical policies and procedures and ensuring continuous staff training. The VP will engage in direct patient care, advocate for patients, and contribute to the advancement of the specialty pharmacy. Additionally, the VP will be accountable for the Profit and Loss (P&L) for the Specialty Pharmacy. Key Responsibilities:
  • Staff Management: Recruit, train, and manage both professional and support staff across the Specialty Pharmacy, Ambulatory Infusion Centers, and Home Health Agency.
  • P&L Oversight: Take complete responsibility for the P&L for the Specialty Pharmacy, Home Health Agency operations, and Home Infusion patients. Collaborate with the Specialty Pharmacy Operations Supervisor and other operational staff to ensure adherence to all healthcare regulations and accrediting body standards. Implement necessary changes as required.
  • Clinical Expertise: Act as a clinical resource for agency staff, utilizing significant judgment, problem-solving skills, and professional expertise.
  • Operational Efficiency: Ensure systems supporting patient care are efficient and effective, promoting high-quality patient outcomes.
  • Staff Development: Oversee the orientation, ongoing education, and performance evaluations of staff in the Ambulatory Infusion Centers and Home Health Agency. Participate in the orientation of other clinical staff or branch personnel as directed.
  • Patient Intake and Care: Manage the initial patient intake process, ensuring timely and appropriate patient verification, assessment, teaching, and scheduling of services. Conduct initial assessments and reassessments as necessary.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely completion and submission of all patient-related documentation, clinical, and departmental reports, in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Billing Support: Assist in the billing process for all services provided by the Ambulatory Infusion Centers and Home Health Agency.
  • Employee Management: Set performance goals, allocate resources for ongoing education, and manage staff performance through evaluations, supervisory visits, and counseling.
  • Policy Review: Participate in the review and maintenance of organizational policies and procedures to guarantee high-quality patient care.
  • Planning and Implementation: Engage in planning, decision-making, and implementation of activities impacting staff and patients within the Ambulatory Infusion Centers and Home Health Agency.
  • Professional Development: Pursue continuous professional growth through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to stay current with trends in the infusion field. Maintain clinical competency and foster exceptional customer service, teamwork, and fiscal responsibility.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with all members of the patient care team and other relevant parties to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Quality Improvement: Contribute to the company’s quality improvement program.
  • Marketing and Education: Support the company’s marketing efforts by providing educational in-services as requested and participate in internal committees as needed.
Must have requirements/preferences:
  • Valid RN License: Must possess an active Registered Nurse license in California.
  • Leadership Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a leadership or management role.
  • Clinical Leadership: Over 2 years of experience in clinical leadership within an infusion therapy setting, including the administration of IVIG and other medications for autoimmune conditions.
  • Team Collaboration: Proficient in working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, including case managers, discharge planners, patients, physicians, and pharmacists.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Well-versed in regulatory standards set by Federal, State, and accreditation bodies applicable to ambulatory infusion centers and home health agencies.
  • Policy Development: Experience in creating and implementing written policies and procedures.
  • Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or current CRNI (Certified Registered Nurse Infusion) or IGCN (Immunoglobulin Certification Nurse) certification for at least 2 years.
  • Preferred Certifications: Current CRNI, IGCN, or IgNS (Immunoglobulin Nurses Society) certification is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Professional Affiliations: Membership or affiliation with INS (Infusion Nurses Society) or IGNS (Immunoglobulin Nurses Society) is preferred.
Schedule- The facility is open 8am-6pm M-F, is closed on weekends, and there are no holidays. Your schedule will most likely be 9am-6pm, but this can vary a bit.

Pay Ranges- $110K -180K
