One of Alliance Solutions Group major clients in the Chantilly, VA area is currently seeking a well-qualified, experienced Certified Sterile Compounding IV Pharmacy Technician to work on site. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare sterile intravenous medications following USP <797> guidelines and other applicable regulations.
- Perform calculations to ensure accurate quantities of ingredients are used in each compounded medication.
- Maintain a clean and organized compounding area to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Adhere to aseptic techniques and proper gowning procedures during compounding activities.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of compounding equipment.
- Label compounded medications accurately and ensure proper documentation of all activities.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate medication preparation and delivery.
- Participate in quality assurance activities, including monitoring of environmental conditions and conducting sterility testing.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a pharmacy technician training program preferred.
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is required.
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in sterile IV compounding within a pharmacy or healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of USP <797> guidelines and other relevant regulations governing sterile compounding.
- Proficiency in performing sterile compounding calculations and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly and professionally.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with automated compounding technology (ACT) systems.
- Knowledge of hazardous drug handling guidelines (USP <800>).
Certifications NEEDED: VA State license and certification MUST (national license must be up to date!)
Pay: $25-30/hr
Start date: ASAP
Schedule: Varying shifts; 8a-5p, 9a-5:30p, 9:30a-6p - rotating shifts Monday - Friday, plus every 5th Saturday 8:30-4p
